I bought this bedside lamp for my desk at work, to create some ambient lighting in view of the harsh bright lights that are overhead. I LOVE THIS LAMP!! The light bulb that comes with it provides the perfect soft lighting. Not only is it stylish, with it's oblong shade, but it has the added benefit of USB ports so I can charge my iPad and iPhone. I can turn it off with the pull chain without having to get out of bed. There's even a three-prong plug port on the top of the base. Ingenious idea and stylish too! It’s simple but looks elegant and designed for convennient uses! I like the string style to pull it on/off. I can keep the switch turned on all the time (for USB charging) and the light controlled by either the string or the wall switch.
